Welcome to Fermently. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using Fermently, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Fermently is designed to track your fermentation projects. To provide this service, we collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: When you start using the App, we may create an anonymous user ID. If you choose to create a full account, we collect your email address and password for authentication purposes.
• User-Generated Content: We store the data you input into the App, including batch names, ingredients, logs (pH, gravity, temperature), and photos of your ferments.
• Device Permissions: * Camera & Photo Library: With your explicit permission, we access your camera and photo library so you can attach images to your fermentation logs.
  
  • Push Notifications: With your explicit permission, we collect a device token to send you scheduled reminders (e.g., nutrient additions or pH checks).
• Usage Data & Diagnostics: We collect basic, anonymized crash reports and app usage data to help us fix bugs and improve the App's performance.

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the core functionality of the App (saving your recipes and logs).
• To send you timely push notifications regarding your active fermentations.
• To sync your data across multiple devices (if you create an account).
• To troubleshoot bugs and improve the user experience.

We do not sell your personal data or user-generated content to data brokers or advertising networks.

Fermently uses trusted third-party services to operate the App. These services have their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase: We use Firebase for secure user authentication, cloud database storage (saving your logs), and image hosting.
• Expo: We use Expo's services to deliver push notifications to your device.

We retain your fermentation logs and account data for as long as your account is active.

Your Right to Delete: You can request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. You can do this directly within the App's settings menu or by contacting us using the email below. Once requested, your data will be permanently removed from our active databases.

We value your trust in providing us your information. We use commercially acceptable means of protecting it, including industry-standard encryption provided by Google Firebase. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
